The house and barns were likely built about between 1850 and 1860 by Richard Corwin.  The original road to the house went from Beaverdam Rd. to the front and then probably to the left of the house to the barns (see also "J.W. Swezey" House, above). These pictures show the house and barns early in the 20th Century when owned by Chauncey Swezey

When lots were sold off the farm after 1900, a new road -- Locust Rd. -- was placed to the right (east) of the house, which explains why the house currently appears not to have a front entrance.  The house and barns have changed little in exterior appearance -- the porch has been enclosed and the shed on the right is used as a kitchen.  The larger barn is a guest cottage.  The small barn has had a small garage addition added to the front.
